Choosing a dental implant clinic in Tijuana involves much more than comparing prices. The best way to choose is to check five things: who places your implants, which implant system they use, what the price really includes, how they plan your case, and what happens if you need help after you go home.

We answer these questions for patients every day, including many who are comparing us with other clinics. So here’s the honest checklist we’d use ourselves, whether you choose us or not.

Key takeaways

  • Ask who places the implants and check their license in Mexico’s official registry.
  • Ask for the implant brand and whether parts are available in the U.S.
  • Compare complete quotes, not starting prices: what’s included can change the total by thousands.
  • For All-on-4, ask about temporary teeth, the final material and how many trips you’ll need.

1. Who Will Actually Place Your Implants?

Implant surgery is a specialized procedure. Before you book, ask for the name of the dentist who will place your implants, their specialty and how often they do your type of case.

In Mexico, every licensed dentist has a Cédula Profesional that you can verify online in the registry of the Secretaría de Educación Pública. A good clinic shares those numbers openly.

  • The surgeon’s name and specialty (oral surgeon or maxillofacial surgeon)
  • Their Cédula Profesional number
  • How many implant or full-arch cases they do
  • Who designs and places your final teeth

At our clinic, implants are placed by an oral surgeon and a maxillofacial surgeon, each with more than 15 years of experience. You can check their licenses on Meet the Team.

2. Which Implant System Will You Receive?

Not all implants are the same. Ask for the brand and the system, and whether a dentist in the U.S. or Canada can find parts for it if you ever need a repair. Well-known systems are easier to service years from now.

We primarily work with Straumann and Neodent, both from the Straumann Group, and we give you your implant details in writing on request.

3. What Does the Price Really Include?

Two clinics can advertise very different prices because they aren’t quoting the same treatment. That’s why you should compare complete, written quotes, not starting prices.

Ask if the quote includesWhy it matters
3D CBCT scanNeeded to plan implants safely
ExtractionsOften charged separately
Bone graftCan add several hundred dollars per area
Abutment and final crown or bridgeSome quotes include only the implant post
Temporary teethYou shouldn’t go home without teeth
SedationUsually charged by the hour

Our prices are listed openly on our 2026 price list, so you can compare line by line.

4. How Will They Plan Your Case?

A good clinic plans before it promises. Ask whether they’ll review your X-rays first, take a 3D scan before surgery, and explain the plan in writing, including dates and the number of trips.

Be careful with pressure to pay a large amount before you understand your diagnosis. A small deposit to reserve a surgery date is normal; a rushed decision is not.

5. What Happens After You Go Home?

Implants need maintenance wherever they’re placed. Ask about the warranty, follow-up visits, and what happens if something breaks once you’re back home. Also ask whether your local dentist can do your routine cleanings.

Choosing a Clinic for All-on-4 or Full-Arch Implants

Full-arch treatment like All-on-4 has a few extra questions worth asking, because the cases are bigger and usually take two trips:

  • Will I leave the first trip with fixed temporary teeth?
  • What material are the final teeth made of?
  • How many implants does my bone need: four, five or six?
  • How many trips will I need, and how long is each one?
  • Is transportation included, and do you use the Medical Lane to cross back?
  • How much is the deposit, and is it credited to my treatment?

If you’re comparing four implants with six, our guide to All-on-6 explains the difference.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • A price that seems too good, with no written breakdown
  • No names or license numbers for the dentists
  • No 3D scan before implant surgery
  • Pressure to pay in full before an evaluation
  • Vague answers about the implant brand or warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a dental implant clinic in Tijuana?

Check who places the implants and their license, which implant system they use, what the quote includes, how they plan your case with a 3D scan, and what warranty and follow-up care they offer.

How can I verify a dentist’s license in Mexico?

Search the dentist’s name or Cédula Profesional number in the official registry of the Secretaría de Educación Pública. Licensed dentists and specialists appear there with their degree and university.

Which implant brands are best?

Well-known systems with international availability, such as Straumann and Neodent, are easier to service in the future. Always ask which brand you’ll receive and get it in writing.

Why are some All-on-4 prices in Tijuana so much lower?

Usually because the quote doesn’t include the same things. Some leave out extractions, the 3D scan, temporary teeth or the final bridge. Compare complete written quotes.

Is a deposit normal for dental implants in Mexico?

A small deposit to reserve a surgery date is common. For example, our All-on-4 deposit is $500 and it’s credited to your treatment. Be cautious if you’re asked to pay in full before an evaluation.

Should I choose the cheapest clinic?

Not necessarily. For implants, the lowest quote can end up costing more if it leaves things out or uses a system that’s hard to service later. Price matters, but planning, materials and follow-up matter more.
